Young Chinese diver Chen Jia dazzled the crowd at the Diving World Cup in Windsor, Canada by clinching the gold medal in the women’s 3m springboard event. At just 20 years old, Chen Jia entered the competition as a wild card invitee after her standout performance in Guadalajara, Mexico earlier this month.
With consistent brilliance across five intense rounds, she racked up an impressive overall score of 379.05 points – a total that even surpassed Chen Yiwen’s winning performance at last year’s Paris Summer Olympics. Chen Jia admitted, "My score is a little bit lower than at the Mexico leg, and I feel tired after these two consecutive stops. I need to perfect the details and improve on the gestures," showing both humility and drive.
The fierce battle saw Chen Yiwen finish second with 369.90 points, while Australia’s Maddison Keeney grabbed bronze with 336.55 points. The excitement didn’t stop there: Chinese divers also shone in the men’s 10m platform and the women’s 10m synchronized platform events, underscoring their dominance with a total haul of eight golds, three silvers, and one bronze.
With the next stop, the season’s Super Final, scheduled from May 2-4 in Beijing, the stage is set for more heart-pounding diving action. Stay tuned and keep diving into the excitement! 🏅🌟
