The National Spring Swimming Championships in Qingdao lit up the Chinese mainland on Sunday night, as 18-year-old rising star Zhang Zhanshuo stole the spotlight with a breathtaking performance. In the men's 400-meter individual medley final, Zhang maintained a commanding lead from the start, finishing with a stellar time of 4 minutes and 13.40 seconds. Prior wins in the 1500-meter freestyle, the 200-meter butterfly, and another 400-meter individual medley had already marked him as a standout competitor.

The action wasn’t limited to the men’s races. In the women’s 100-meter butterfly final, top qualifier Wang Yichun surged ahead with a time of 57.38 seconds, followed closely by Yu Yiting and Gong Zhenqi in second and third places.
