Chinese Stars Exit Early at Indian Wells Tennis Tournament 🎾

Chinese tennis players Yuan Yue and Zhang Zhizhen faced early exits at the Indian Wells tournament this week, ending their hopes for a deeper run in the prestigious event.

World No. 68 Yuan Yue struggled with her serve, winning just 50% of her service points. She was unable to capitalize on break points, leading to a 6-2, 6-4 defeat against Ukraine's Dayana Yastremska, who now moves on to face world No. 32 Ons Jabeur of Tunisia in the next round.

In the men's competition, world No. 51 Zhang Zhizhen showed promise against Canada's Gabriel Diallo in a rain-affected match. Despite hitting 11 aces and generating more winners than Diallo, Zhang couldn't secure the win, falling 2-6, 6-2, 7-6(7) in a thrilling contest that lasted nearly three hours. Diallo will now take on world No. 21 Arthur Fils of France, who received a first-round bye.
