Wang Xindi Ends 3-Year Drought with World Cup Win in Almaty 🏆❄️

Victory is sweet, especially after a three-year wait! 🏅 Chinese freestyle aerialist Wang Xindi soared to the top of the podium in Almaty, Kazakhstan, winning the World Cup this Sunday. At 29, Wang nailed the toughest trick of the day—a back double full-full-double full—earning an impressive 127.50 points on his final leap. This marks his first World Cup win since Deer Valley in 2022.

\"I think I performed well today and it was not easy for me to win this gold. And I think all my compatriots performed great today. You can always believe in team China,\" Wang shared, reflecting on his hard-fought victory.

Switzerland’s Noe Roth snagged the silver with 126.70 points, while reigning Olympic champion Qi Guangpu of China secured the bronze with 122.62 points. Qi still holds the yellow World Cup overall leader's bib and could take the season title when the circuit heads to its final stop in Italy later this month.

In the women's competition, Australia's Laura Peel clinched the victory with 115.91 points, followed by China's Xu Mengtao at 101.74 points and Aussie Danielle Scott in third place with 87.06 points. Peel is on track to wrap up the season in Livigno, Italy, with a Crystal Globe, leading the standings by 78 points ahead of Xu.

The Freestyle Skiing World Cup is gearing up for its grand finale at the 2026 Olympic test event in Livigno, Italy, running from March 11th to 13th. Stay tuned for more thrilling action! 🎿✨
