Xinjiang Soars to CBA Club Cup Final with 105-89 Victory Over Shanxi 🏀

The final stage of the inaugural Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) Club Cup is heating up in Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi Province in the northwestern region of the Chinese mainland. In an electrifying game on Tuesday, the Xinjiang Flying Tigers triumphed over the Shanxi Loongs with a score of 105-89, securing their spot in the championship final.

Robert Edwards, who joined Xinjiang during the Lunar New Year break, was on fire, scoring a team-high 29 points. He also contributed six rebounds and five assists, showcasing his versatility on the court. Meanwhile, Shanxi's former NBA slam dunk champion Hamidou Diallo led his team with an impressive 35 points.

The Flying Tigers kicked off strong, leading by nine points after the first quarter. However, the Shanxi Loongs, currently holding the second spot in the CBA regular season standings, made a fierce comeback, tying the game at 54-54 by halftime.

Determined to take control, Xinjiang launched a decisive 13-2 run in the third quarter, reestablishing a nine-point lead that Shanxi couldn't overcome. 🔥

With eight teams advancing to the final stage, the competition features a single-elimination format. Each quarter is shortened to 10 minutes, and teams can field up to four overseas players per game, with a maximum of eight appearances across all contests. However, no more than two overseas players can be on the court at the same time.

It's important to note that CBA Club Cup games do not affect the regular season standings.

The excitement continues as the other semifinal game will see the Beijing Ducks face off against the Shanghai Sharks on Wednesday, with the highly anticipated final set to take place on Saturday. Stay tuned for more thrilling basketball action! 🏆
