Iga Swiatek Talks Doping Suspension Ahead of United Cup Kickoff 🇵🇱🎾

Iga Swiatek is gearing up to lead Poland at the United Cup in Sydney, and she's got some things to say about her recent doping suspension. 🎾🇵🇱

The World No. 2 served a one-month suspension after testing positive for a banned substance back in August. But don't get it twisted – Swiatek explained that it was all due to a contaminated dose of melatonin, and the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) accepted her explanation.

\"I'm not expecting an appeal,\" Swiatek said. \"I have, kind of, no influence on what's going to happen, but I can say from the process that I went through, and how they treated me from the beginning, that it seemed fair for me.\"

She added, \"I managed to give the source pretty quickly, that's why the case closed pretty quickly. I didn't play tournaments, and I got a small, symbolic fine, but it's over now.\"

Swiatek is ready to put the past behind her and focus on leading Poland against the Czech Republic and Norway in Group B. \"I trust ITIA that any case they do, they're going to treat every player the same way and fairly,\" she concluded.

Looks like Swiatek is all set to smash it on the court! 🎾🔥
