What's happening to Manchester City?
The reigning Premier League champions are having a tough time lately, and it showed once again as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Everton on Thursday, kicking off a full slate of Boxing Day matches.
Things started brightly for City when Bernardo Silva scored an early goal, sending fans into a frenzy . But the excitement didn't last long. Superstar Erling Haaland had a golden opportunity to double the lead from the penalty spot but missed, leaving everyone in shock.
City's slump is becoming hard to ignore. They've managed just one win in their last 13 matches across all competitions, including only one victory in their last nine league games. This rough patch has them sitting sixth in the Premier League table with 28 points, a whopping 11 points behind leaders Liverpool, who have two games in hand.
Pep Guardiola's squad could even drop to eighth by the end of the day. Not exactly the holiday spirit fans were hoping for! Everton, on the other hand, are 15th, hovering five points above the relegation zone.
Can the champions turn things around, or is this the new normal? Stay tuned, football fans!
