Zheng Qinwen Gears Up for China’s Tennis Season! 🎾

Fresh off her golden triumph at the 2024 Paris Olympics 🏅 and a fierce run at the U.S. Open, China's tennis sensation Zheng Qinwen is back on home turf! 🇨🇳 She's kicking off preparations for the much-anticipated China Season, starting with her first training session in Beijing this Wednesday.

\"I'm actually in a good form both physically and mentally,\" Zheng told China Media Group (CMG). \"I finally have two weeks for exercise.\"

Zheng chose to skip the Guadalajara Open to focus on her training. \"It took me two days to overcome jet lag after coming back from the U.S.,\" she shared. \"But now, I'm all set to get back into intense training.\"

After reaching the quarterfinals at the U.S. Open, matching her best record at the hard-court Grand Slam, Zheng is hungry for more. 🎾 She faced off against Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus, giving it her all despite feeling she could've been stronger.

\"I didn't have a complete training period or enough time for exercise before the U.S. Open,\" Zheng admitted. \"But I did the best I could. I've heard people say I'm a bit thin in the upper body—it's true! I hadn't had any intense training since the Olympic Games.\"

Winning gold in Paris not only brought Zheng into the global spotlight but also added some pressure. However, she's transforming that pressure into pure motivation. 💪

\"I consider the pressure as my motivation because you always have a new mountain to conquer in tennis,\" Zheng said. \"I still have many titles to win. I expect to challenge and surpass myself step by step. I won't dwell on my past honors.\"

With the China Open kicking off in Beijing on September 17, Zheng is laser-focused on reaching her peak performance. \"I want to be at my best on every front before the competition begins.\"
