Paris’s Paralympic Village Ready to Shine as 2024 Games Near ✨

The Paralympic Village in Paris is buzzing with final preparations as the 2024 Games approach. With doors set to open to athletes on Wednesday, the village is ready to welcome the world! 🌍🏅

\"All the Paralympic Village was actually already prepared,\" said Laurent Michaud, Director of the Olympic and Paralympic Villages. \"We only had to make some changes in a few services regarding mobility, like installing more micromobility devices, so athletes have better possibilities to move inside the village, even if they are in a wheelchair.\"

The 2024 Paralympic Games kick off on August 28 and run until September 8, featuring around 4,400 athletes from 160 nations and regions competing in 549 events across 22 sports. 🎽🏊‍♀️

\"What's just amazing, like a Disneyland world, is everything takes care of the accessibility,\" shared Ludivine Munos, Paralympic Integration Manager Paris 2024 and former Paralympic athlete. \"You can go directly outside from your apartment without a ramp. Everything is accessible, even in the dining hall, where you have different solutions to put your plate on the table.\"

Ottobock, a partner of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, has set up a repair center within the village to service prostheses, wheelchairs, and orthoses. They're expecting to carry out about 2,000 repairs during the Games, averaging 200 repairs per day. 🛠️♿

Spanning an area equivalent to 70 football pitches, the Paralympic Village offers a wide range of amenities, including a large refectory with various food stations, a massive sports hall, training fields for numerous sports, a polyclinic, prayer rooms, and an anti-doping center. It's a mini-city designed to meet every need of the athletes! 🏙️

With the final touches being added, Paris is set to host a truly inclusive and unforgettable Paralympic Games! Let the countdown begin! ⏳🔥
