Zhu Zhenzhen: China’s Wheelchair Tennis Star Shooting for Gold at Paris 2024 🇨🇳🎾

China's Zhu Zhenzhen is setting her sights on the ultimate prize at the 2024 Paris Summer Paralympics: a gold medal! 🏆 After making waves and breaking records in the world of wheelchair tennis, she's ready to take her game to the next level.

From humble beginnings battling osteomyelitis at just two years old, Zhu's journey has been nothing short of inspiring. It took her eight years to master tennis in a wheelchair, but her dedication has paid off in spades.

In 2011, she burst onto the scene by clinching doubles and team golds at the eighth National Para Games of China. By 2016, she reached the quarterfinals in both singles and doubles at the Rio Paralympics, signaling her arrival on the global stage.

But Zhu didn't stop there! In 2018, she won China's first gold in women's doubles at the Asian Para Games in Jakarta alongside partner Huang Huimin. Since turning pro the same year, she's competed in 11 Grand Slam tournaments, making history as China's first professional wheelchair tennis player, first to participate in a Grand Slam via world ranking points, and first women's doubles runner-up at the Australian Open and singles runner-up at the French Open.

\"Although I am currently ranked fifth in the world, which is a relatively high ranking, I still aspire to stand atop the podium representing China,\" Zhu shared with China Media Group. \"In fact, I have privately envisioned scenes of myself winning a Paralympic gold medal and the mere thought of it excites me.\"

With the Paris Summer Paralympics kicking off on August 28, Zhu is training harder than ever. She's not just aiming for the podium—she's aiming for the top spot! 💪

Her journey resonates with young athletes around the world, proving that with determination and passion, you can overcome any obstacle. So, let's rally behind Zhu Zhenzhen as she takes on the world in Paris! 🇫🇷🌍
