Cloud Tech Takes Gold! Bach Cheers China’s AI at Olympics 2024 🎉

At the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, cloud technology is outpacing satellites to become the main way to broadcast the Games—boosting speeds and cutting costs! 🚀

For the first time ever, the Olympic Broadcasting Services (OBS) teamed up with Alibaba Cloud, the cloud computing arm of China’s internet giant Alibaba, to develop OBS Cloud 3.0 for the opening ceremony. This means smoother streaming and an epic viewing experience for fans worldwide! 📺🌍

International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Thomas Bach gave a huge shoutout to Alibaba’s AI expertise during the official opening of Alibaba Wonder Avenue on Saturday. He said, \"Alibaba's Wonder Avenue is the latest example of how our partnership is taking the Olympic Movement into the digital age.\"

Bach continued, \"Alibaba plays an essential role when it comes to supporting technology during the Olympic Games, greatly increasing the efficiency and sustainability of Olympic Games operations. Our partnership also extends beyond the Olympic Games, with Alibaba playing a defining role in our Olympic AI Agenda, helping us harness the great potential of AI in a responsible way.\" Talk about teamwork making the dream work! 🤝

Thanks to OBS Cloud, over 11,000 hours of live competition will be streamed to more than 200 countries and regions. Plus, OBS has installed multi-camera replay systems in 14 venues, giving us ultra-cool frame-freeze slow-motion replays in sports like rugby, table tennis, athletics, skateboarding, and more! 🛹🏓

With AI and other cutting-edge tech, the Games are set to be more immersive than ever. Get ready to feel like you’re right there in the action! 🙌

China’s leading the charge in bringing the Olympics into the digital future, and we can’t wait to see what’s next! 🎉
