Dak Prescott, the star quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, is entering the final year of his four-year, $160 million contract. But guess what? He's totally chill about it! 😎
After Wednesday's organized team activities (OTAs), Prescott opened up about his contract situation. \"I don't play for money. Never have, never cared for it, to be honest with you, yeah,\" he said. \"Would give it up just to play this game. So, I allow that to the business people to say what it's worth, what they're supposed to give a quarterback of my play, a person of my play, a leader of my play. For me, it's about, as I said, control what I can control and handle that part and the rest will take care of itself.\"
Talk about being zen! 🧘♂️ While some players might stress over extensions, Dak is all about focusing on the gridiron and letting the business side sort itself out.
Back in 2021, when Prescott inked his current deal, he secured some sweet perks: no-trade and no-tag rights. That means he could become an unrestricted free agent by March 2025 if a new extension isn't in place. But is he sweating it? Not a bit.
Last season, Prescott was on fire! 🔥 He played all 17 regular-season games, throwing for a career- and league-high of 4,516 yards and 36 touchdowns. He completed 410 of his 590 passes and only had nine interceptions. Oh, and let's not forget his 242 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground. With stats like these, it's no wonder he was selected for the Pro Bowl and named Second-team All-Pro.
The Cowboys' fans are surely hoping their star QB sticks around, but for now, Dak is all about the love of the game. 🏈❤️
So, will Prescott sign an extension soon? Only time will tell, but one thing's for sure: He's keeping his eyes on the prize and his head in the game.
