U.S. and Mexico Withdraw 2027 Women’s World Cup Bid to Target 2031 Edition

U.S. and Mexico Switch Gears to 2031 Women's World Cup 🌎⚽️

The U.S. and Mexico have hit the pause button on their joint bid for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, aiming instead for the 2031 edition! 🇺🇸🇲🇽✨

On Monday, the football associations of both countries announced their decision to withdraw from the 2027 hosting race. Cindy Parlow Cone, president of U.S. Soccer, shared, \"Hosting a World Cup tournament is a huge undertaking – and having additional time to prepare allows us to maximize its impact across the globe.\"

She added, \"I'm proud of our commitment to provide equitable experiences for the players, fans, and all our stakeholders. Shifting our bid will enable us to host a record-breaking Women's World Cup in 2031 that will help to grow and raise the level of the women's game both here at home as well as across the globe.\" 🌟

With the U.S. and Mexico stepping back from 2027, the stage is set for an exciting face-off between the remaining bidders: Brazil 🇧🇷 and a joint bid from Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands 🇩🇪🇧🇪🇳🇱. The FIFA Congress will make the big decision on May 17 in Bangkok, Thailand. 🏆✨

Stay tuned, soccer fans! The future of women's football is heating up, and we can't wait to see where it goes next. 🚀⚽️
