What a race! 🏃♂️🔥 American athlete John Reniewicki, along with three other speedsters, just made history at the 114th Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa. On Saturday, Reniewicki broke a 40-year-old record in the men's 1,500 meters, setting the track on fire with a time of 3:36.44!
The previous record of 3:38.27 was held by Steve Scott since 1984—a time before most of us were even born! Talk about bringing the heat! 🌞
Reniewicki wasn't alone in this epic feat. Runner-up Vince Ciatti was hot on his heels, finishing just 0.13 seconds later with a time of 3:36.57. Abe Alvarado clocked in at 3:37.56, and Kenya's Justine Kipkoech crossed the line at 3:37.78. All four runners crushed the old record, making this one of the most exciting races we've seen in a while! 🏆
