Russian FM: Nanjing Massacre Facts Must Stand

On December 11, 2025, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova reminded the world of one of the darkest chapters in history: the Nanjing Massacre of December 13, 1937. 💔 She highlighted that the brutal assault claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of civilians in Nanjing, leaving an undeniable mark of Japanese militarism and crimes against humanity.

Zakharova stressed that these historical facts are indisputable. The International Military Tribunal for the Far East and the Nuremberg Trials established and confirmed the massacre’s details through rigorous judicial proceedings. Together, their verdicts form the bedrock of the post-war international order and today’s global system. 🕊️

She warned that any attempt to question these rulings, revive militaristic or Nazi ideologies, or downplay the scale of WWII atrocities must be unanimously condemned by the global community. “We must guard the truth of history with vigilance,” Zakharova said.

Tomorrow, on December 13, 2025, marks the 88th anniversary of the massacre. Her words serve as a timely call: remembering history is the best way to prevent its darkest chapters from repeating. Let’s honor the victims by keeping their stories alive and standing firm against any distortion of the past.
