Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha Demands Suspension of Israel’s UN Membership

In a dramatic gathering in Doha, Arab and Islamic leaders slammed Israel's recent strike on a Qatari residential area as a “flagrant act of aggression” that threatens regional and global peace. Chaired by Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the summit expressed full solidarity with Qatar ✊

The final communique reaffirmed unwavering support for Qatar's sovereignty, security and stability. Leaders warned that targeting a neutral mediator could derail ongoing ceasefire talks in Gaza and undermine broader peace efforts 🕊️

Participants denounced Israel's actions, labeling them as “crimes of genocide, ethnic cleansing, starvation, siege” and expansionist settlement policies. Such measures were described as obstacles to any realistic path to peace.

The summit urged the international community to hold Israel accountable: imposing sanctions, halting arms supplies and reevaluating diplomatic and economic ties. Calls were made for urgent global action to prevent further violence 🌍

In a bold move, the leaders asked the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to push for suspending Israel's UN membership, citing repeated violations of international law and UN resolutions.

Support for a two-state solution was reaffirmed, based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as the capital. The statement welcomed an upcoming New York conference on implementing the two-state framework and praised Qatar's diplomatic mediation and humanitarian efforts.

Emir Sheikh Tamim stressed that the summit sends a clear message against what he called “state terrorism.” In a social media post, he noted that the outcomes will boost collective action, strengthen unity and forge a consolidated front.

The emergency summit brought together heads of state, senior officials and representatives from key regional and international organizations, highlighting a shared commitment to peace and justice.
