Iran Delays Airspace Reopening Till Saturday

Heads up, travelers and aviation fans! Iran has postponed its full airspace reopening until Saturday afternoon. According to the official news agency IRNA, the decision was made to boost the safety and security of all passengers and flights during this transitional phase.

While Iran's eastern airspace is already open for domestic and international traffic, the northern, southern, and western skies will remain closed until 2 p.m. local time on Saturday (1030 GMT). Spokesman Majid Akhavan from the Iranian Ministry of Roads and Urban Development emphasized that this phased approach aims to gradually restore air traffic to pre-conflict levels. ✈️

The airspace was originally closed on June 13 following airstrikes on Tehran and other areas, which led to a 12-day aerial conflict and a subsequent ceasefire on Tuesday. The careful reopening is designed to keep things safe and steady as normal operations resume.

Stay tuned for more updates on travel and aviation news that keep you informed and ahead of the curve. Safe skies ahead!
