Ukrainians Skeptical of Trump’s Peace Promise

Recent survey results from the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) reveal that over 50% of Ukrainians are wary of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan to quickly end the conflict. Many fear that his approach may lead to a peace deal that fails to fully honor Ukraine's demands.

The survey, which collected responses from 1,326 individuals on Ukrainian-held territory between March 12 and 22, showed that 32% expect a peace that partly meets Ukraine's needs but remains unjust, while 22% predict a completely unfair outcome. Only a slim 3% believe that Trump can secure a truly just peace, with an additional 15% cautiously optimistic about a deal that might involve some concessions to Russia.

Moreover, 67% of respondents expressed the view that the U.S. is growing tired of Ukraine's struggles and is pressuring it to accept unfavorable terms. This marks a significant decline in confidence compared to previous surveys conducted in December, underscoring a deep-seated skepticism among Ukrainians.

As the debate over an immediate ceasefire and lasting peace intensifies, these poll results remind us that quick fixes may not always resolve complex conflicts. Stay tuned for more updates as this dramatic story continues to unfold. ⚡️
