Iran Strongly Condemns New U.S. Sanctions on Oil Sales

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei has strongly condemned the U.S. government's latest sanctions targeting several vessels and individuals involved in the sale of Iran's crude oil. 🚫🛢️

In a statement released two days after the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced the sanctions, Baghaei expressed that the measures contradict the United Nations Charter's principles, including respect for national sovereignty and the right to self-determination. 📜

He labeled the sanctions as \"wrong, unjustified and illegitimate,\" asserting that they violate Iranians' human rights and increase international pressure on Iran. This marks the second round of oil-related sanctions since former President Donald Trump initiated a \"campaign of maximum pressure\" to halt Iran's oil exports. ⚖️🌍

Baghaei also criticized U.S. officials who claim willingness to engage with Iran, stating that these sanctions are proof of insincerity and hostile policies towards Iran's well-being and development. 🤝❌
