UN Suspends Aid in Yemen’s Sa’ada Governorate ⚠️

The United Nations has halted its operations in Yemen's Sa'ada governorate due to escalating security concerns. This decision comes after the Houthi authorities detained eight UN personnel, including six working directly in Sa'ada.

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety of UN staff before resuming any activities. Farhan Haq, the UN spokesperson, stated, \"The pause is necessary to guarantee the security of our personnel and to ensure the effectiveness of our humanitarian efforts.\"

Sa'ada has been under Houthi control since 2014, contributing to one of the world's most severe humanitarian crises. The suspension aims to provide time for negotiations to release the detained UN workers and to establish secure conditions for future operations.

Despite this setback, the United Nations remains committed to assisting millions in need across Yemen, advocating for impartial and neutral humanitarian support.
