China Urges U.S. to Cancel $567M Arms Sale to Taiwan Region 🚫

China has strongly condemned the recent U.S. decision to sell arms worth around $567 million to the Taiwan region, urging Washington to revoke the deal immediately. 🇨🇳🚫

Wu Qian, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of National Defense, expressed Beijing's opposition on Wednesday, emphasizing that such moves seriously undermine China-U.S. relations and destabilize peace across the Taiwan Strait.

\"The U.S. needs to stop playing with fire! 🔥\" Wu said in response to media queries. \"These actions violate the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques, especially the August 17 communique.\"

He urged the U.S. to halt its \"two-faced\" approach towards China and cease arming the Taiwan region, warning that fueling separatist forces seeking \"Taiwan independence\" sends a dangerous signal.

Wu stressed that \"Taiwan independence\" means war, and any attempts to use Taiwan to contain China will result in self-inflicted harm. \"We urge the U.S. to change its double-dealing practices and not disturb the relations between our countries and militaries,\" he added.

This development comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with many observers hoping for cooler heads to prevail and for dialogues to resume. 🌏✌️
