China Celebrates 70 Years of People's Congresses!
On Saturday, President Xi Jinping highlighted the importance of continually upholding and improving the system of people's congresses\u2014China's fundamental political system\u2014during a grand celebration for its 70th anniversary. 
Addressing a crowd of about 3,000 attendees, President Xi, who is also the general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), emphasized the need to boost confidence in China's unique path of socialism with Chinese characteristics. 
He called the system of people's congresses \"an entirely new political system that has grown from Chinese soil,\" 
and hailed it as a significant innovation in the history of political institutions worldwide. 
The National People's Congress (NPC), established in 1954, stands as China's highest organ of state power. 
Its creation marked a transformative shift in China's political landscape\u2014moving from power concentrated in the hands of a few to a system where the people govern the country as its masters under the Party's leadership. 
This celebration not only honors seven decades of progress but also calls on the nation to keep the momentum going! 
President Xi urged everyone to continue working hard to enhance the system, ensuring it remains effective and resonates with the people's needs.
