🚀 Big news from Beijing! China and Rwanda are taking their friendship to the next level! 🇨🇳🤝🇷🇼

On Thursday, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Rwandan President Paul Kagame announced that they've upgraded their relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership. This exciting development came during Kagame's visit to Beijing for the 2024 Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC).

President Xi emphasized China's support for Rwanda's independent development path and expressed a desire to deepen exchanges on governance, build stronger political trust, and collaborate on modernization efforts. He highlighted the FOCAC summit as a golden opportunity to boost their bilateral ties.

China and Rwanda are gearing up to work together on projects in infrastructure, agriculture, satellite applications, and more! 🌐 They're also planning to co-run the Confucius Institute at the University of Rwanda and the Luban Workshop, promoting high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between the two nations.

President Kagame recalled President Xi's 2018 visit to Rwanda and noted the shared values of multilateralism and respect for sovereignty. He reaffirmed Rwanda's support for the one-China policy and China's national reunification efforts.

The two leaders also issued a joint statement on promoting the Global Security Initiative, the Global Development Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative—aimed at fostering peace, development, and cultural exchange worldwide. 🌏✌️

To top it off, China and Rwanda signed several bilateral cooperation agreements covering honey exports to China (sweet! 🍯), digital communication, and media cooperation.

This new partnership is set to bring exciting opportunities and strengthen the bond between these two dynamic countries! 🙌
