In a twist that feels straight out of an adventure movie 🎬🌊, the Chinese mainland has returned four crew members from a Taiwan fishing vessel suspected of illegal fishing near the waters off Quanzhou City in Fujian Province.
Zhu Fenglian, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, announced on Tuesday that the four crew members were sent back after determining their offenses were minor. However, one crew member remains under investigation.
The boat was seized by the mainland's coast guard on July 2. Zhu emphasized that the Chinese mainland places great importance on protecting its fishery resources and maintaining order in its sea areas. \"We have acted in accordance with the law and guaranteed the legitimate rights and interests of the crew members,\" she stated.
