Iran Accuses U.S. of Aiding Assassination of Hamas Leader Haniyeh

In a dramatic turn of events, Iran's caretaker Foreign Minister, Ali Bagheri Kani, has accused the United States of giving the green light and providing intelligence support for the assassination of Hamas politburo chief Ismail Haniyeh. 😱

Speaking at an extraordinary ministerial meeting of the Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Bagheri Kani didn't hold back. He labeled the assassination as \\"only one instance of Israel's terrorist crimes,\\" and a \\"flagrant aggression against Iran's national sovereignty and territorial integrity.\\" 🛡️

The minister urged the UN Security Council to hold Israel accountable for the violations and bring those responsible to justice. He emphasized that the U.S., as Israel's main supporter, bears responsibility for the \\"heinous crime,\\" stating it couldn't have happened without U.S. approval and intelligence support. 🔎

Bagheri Kani warned that, in the absence of appropriate action from the UN, Iran might have no choice but to exercise its \\"inherent right to legitimate self-defense\\" against Israel's aggressions. He highlighted that such measures are necessary to prevent further attacks on Iran's sovereignty, people, and territory, and would be taken at the \\"required time and in a proportionate form.\\" ⚖️

The assassination of Ismail Haniyeh and his bodyguard occurred in the early hours of July 31, when their residence in Tehran was reportedly hit. Haniyeh was in Iran to attend President Masoud Pezeshkian's swearing-in ceremony. Iran has accused Israel of carrying out the attack and has vowed \\"a harsh and painful response.\\" 💥

This incident has escalated tensions in the region, raising concerns about potential retaliatory actions. As the world watches closely, the call for accountability and justice rings louder than ever. 🌍
