China Strongly Condemns Assassination of Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh

🚨 In a bold statement at an emergency UN Security Council meeting, China's envoy Fu Cong fiercely condemned the assassination of Hamas's political leader Ismail Haniyeh, who was killed overnight in an air strike in Tehran, Iran.

Fu didn't mince words, labeling the assassination as \"a flagrant act of sabotage against ongoing peace efforts and a reckless violation of international principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity.\"

The Gaza conflict, now nearing 300 days 🔥, has tragically claimed almost 40,000 lives and unleashed an unprecedented humanitarian crisis. Despite the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2735 over two months ago, hopes for a ceasefire have faded as negotiations stall.

What's even more alarming is the conflict's spillover into neighboring regions 😟. Frequent incidents in Lebanon-Israel, Syria-Israel, and the Red Sea are pushing the Middle East into a more fragile state.

Fu urged all parties to listen to the international community's calls 📣 for a ceasefire, fully implement the Security Council resolution, and actively engage in mediation efforts. \"We need practical actions to de-escalate the situation and bring back peace and stability, not more provocative and dangerous moves,\" he emphasized.

China didn't hold back on criticizing recent actions either. Fu condemned \"irresponsible actions,\" including Israel's attacks on southern Beirut. He stressed that military solutions and the misuse of force aren't the way forward and will only make things worse.

At the heart of the issue, according to Fu, is the failure to implement a ceasefire in Gaza. He called on all parties to align with the international consensus for an immediate ceasefire to save lives, ease the humanitarian disaster, and prevent the conflict from spreading further.

Sending a clear message, the Chinese envoy called on Israel to halt all military actions in Gaza and appealed to influential nations to step up and \"quell the fire in Gaza\" 🔥, helping pave the way back to peace.
