Big Changes in China: Former Defense Ministers Wei Fenghe and Li Shangfu Expelled from CPC

Big changes are happening in China! 😮 The Communist Party of China (CPC) has announced the expulsion of two former defense ministers, Wei Fenghe and Li Shangfu, due to serious violations of party discipline and the law.

The decision came on Thursday after a meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee. Both Wei and Li have also been removed from their positions as delegates to the 20th CPC National Congress.

Investigations were launched against Wei on September 21, 2023, and against Li on August 31, 2023, by the Central Military Commission's (CMC) disciplinary and supervisory agency. The findings revealed that both officials had seriously violated political and organizational disciplines.

Wei Fenghe was found to have misused his position to help others gain unfair advantages in personnel matters, accepted money and gifts unlawfully, and took large bribes. These actions were considered a severe breach of trust, impacting the party and the military. 😔

Li Shangfu faced similar allegations. He was discovered to have sought improper benefits for himself and others, abused his power, accepted significant bribes, and offered money to gain undue advantages. His actions were said to have negatively affected the military equipment sector and related industries.

Both cases have been handed over to the military's legal authorities for further examination and prosecution. The CMC had already expelled them from military service and revoked their ranks of general.

This significant shake-up highlights the CPC's commitment to upholding discipline and combating corruption at all levels. It's a reminder that integrity is paramount, and even top officials are accountable for their actions. 💪

The expulsions aim to maintain trust within the party and ensure the healthy development of national defense and the armed forces. We'll be watching closely to see how this impacts China's future. 🌏
