Chinese Envoy Calls for Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza: End to Collective Punishment 🇨🇳✌️

🇨🇳✨ China's Voice for Peace in Gaza!

On Tuesday, China's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, urged Israel to immediately cease military actions in the Gaza Strip and end the collective punishment of its people.

Fu highlighted that the conflict in Gaza has been raging for over eight months, causing unprecedented destruction and a severe humanitarian crisis. Speaking at a UN Security Council session, he emphasized the overwhelming international consensus calling for an immediate and lasting ceasefire. 🕊️

\"Multiple UN resolutions demand an end to hostilities, the release of all hostages, unhindered humanitarian access, and the protection of aid workers,\" Fu stated.

He pointed out that after a ceasefire initiative was announced on May 31, the United States pushed for the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 2735, urging both Israel and Hamas to accept it. \"At that time, the United States claimed that Israel had accepted the proposal,\" Fu said. \"Unfortunately, we've yet to see any concrete indication from Israel agreeing to a lasting ceasefire.\"

😔 Continued Strife and Humanitarian Concerns

Instead of steps towards peace, Israel has continued major military operations, with repeated attacks on refugee camps across Gaza, resulting in massive civilian casualties and putting humanitarian organizations in danger.

Fu stressed the necessity of an immediate and lasting ceasefire. \"Causing more civilian casualties is not the way for Israel to rescue hostages held by Hamas,\" he asserted.

💔 West Bank Tensions and Calls for Restraint

In the West Bank, daily searches, arrests, and attacks against Palestinians by Israeli security forces have escalated tensions. Fu called on Israel to curb violence against Palestinian civilians and stop undermining the Palestinian National Authority, including promptly returning withheld tax revenues.

He reiterated China's stance that Israeli settlement activities violate international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2334, eroding prospects for a two-state solution. 🕊️✌️

🌊 Regional Stability at Risk

Fu also expressed concerns over the situations in the Red Sea and along the Lebanese-Israeli border, urging all sides to exercise restraint to prevent further escalation.

The call is clear: An immediate ceasefire is essential to halt the suffering and pave the way for lasting peace in the region. ✨🙏
