China Claps Back at U.S. Remarks on Taiwan Separatists 😮

China has fired back at the U.S. 😮, pushing back against criticism over its guidelines to punish diehard \"Taiwan independence\" separatists.

On Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning addressed comments made by U.S. Department of State spokesman Matthew Miller, who labeled China's actions as \"escalatory and destabilizing.\" Mao Ning emphasized that it's common practice for countries to use criminal justice measures against those who seek secession. \"No external forces have the right to say anything about it,\" she asserted.

She highlighted that holding separatists accountable is essential for safeguarding national sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. \"Both sides of the Taiwan Straits belong to the same China, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory,\" Mao stated, underscoring what she described as the real status quo.

Mao Ning pointed out that \"Taiwan independence\" activities and interference by external forces are the biggest challenges to peace and stability in the Taiwan Straits. She called on the U.S. to adhere to the one-China principle and the three China-U.S. joint communiques. \"If the U.S. truly intends to safeguard regional peace and stability, it should honor its commitment of not supporting 'Taiwan independence' and stop sending any wrong signals to separatist forces,\" she urged.

The exchange underscores the ongoing tensions between China and the U.S. over the Taiwan region, with both powers emphasizing different approaches to the issue.
