China’s Six-Point Plan for Global Security Unveiled at Shangri-La Dialogue 🌐

At the 21st Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore 🌴, Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun shared China's vision for a harmonious world 🌏, proposing six measures to boost global security.

Minister Dong emphasized the importance of building a community with a shared future for humanity 💕. He highlighted China's initiatives like the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative, aiming to foster unity and cooperation among nations 🤝.

\"People in the Asia-Pacific are peace-loving and independent,\" Dong said. \"We support each other through thick and thin, drawing strength from 'Asian wisdom' to find common ground while setting aside differences.\"

China is ready to work with all parties to:

  • Protect legitimate security interests of all countries 🛡️
  • Build a fair and just international order ⚖️
  • Enhance regional security architecture 🌐
  • Advance open and substantive defense cooperation 🛠️
  • Set examples of maritime security cooperation 🚢
  • Strengthen security governance in emerging areas 🚀

He stressed that China values peace and harmony and is committed to common security, equality, mutual respect, and inclusiveness 🤗. \"We will always safeguard our core interests,\" Dong asserted.

On the South China Sea 🌊, Dong noted its overall stability and urged a certain country to \"see where its true interests lie and return to the right track of dialogue and consultation.\"

Regarding the Taiwan region 🏝️, he affirmed that the Chinese People's Liberation Army will take resolute actions to curb any attempts at separation and ensure unity.

During the event, Minister Dong also met with senior defense officials from the United States 🇺🇸, Canada 🇨🇦, Thailand 🇹🇭, Japan 🇯🇵, Australia 🇦🇺, France 🇫🇷, Cambodia 🇰🇭, and New Zealand 🇳🇿. He held talks with the president of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the high representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy 🇪🇺.

The Shangri-La Dialogue continues to be a critical platform for fostering understanding and collaboration in the Asia-Pacific region 🌏.
