China Pledges Stronger Ties with Iran after Iranian Leadership Losses

China is standing firm with Iran 🇨🇳🤝🇮🇷! Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy, Mehdi Safari, on Tuesday during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in Astana, Kazakhstan.

Wang Yi expressed deep condolences over the passing of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian. He emphasized that China believes in the resilience of the Iranian people under the leadership of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

\"China will continue to strengthen strategic cooperation with Iran and safeguard our common interests,\" Wang Yi stated. He highlighted the importance of contributing to regional and global peace together.

Mehdi Safari appreciated China's unwavering support during this difficult time. He reassured that Iran's domestic and foreign policies remain steadfast, and the country will continue its development under the guidance of the Supreme Leader.

Safari also thanked China for its role in fostering reconciliation between Saudi Arabia and Iran, vowing to enhance relations with regional neighbors. \"Iran values its strong ties with China and is committed to deepening cooperation in politics, economy, and culture,\" he said.
