Paris recently became the backdrop for a vibrant exchange between nearly 100 young Chinese and French leaders in politics, culture, art, media, and academia. On May 5, a youth dialogue on Chinese modernization lit up the City of Lights, showcasing the power of cultural connection and mutual learning. 🌍✨
Hosted by China Media Group (CMG), Sciences Po Alumni, the Paris Intercollegiate Committee of the United Nations (CINUP), and Jinan University, the event was a melting pot of ideas and perspectives. Among the distinguished guests were Shen Haixiong, president of CMG; Jack Lang, former French culture minister; Sylvie Bermann, former French ambassador to China; Hervé Machenaud, representative of Sciences Po Alumni; and Charles Jeanne, president of CINUP.
Shen Haixiong highlighted the immersive experiences of young French cultural envoys who traveled to China, diving deep into the country's modernization journey. \"They've witnessed firsthand how China's rich traditions harmoniously blend with cutting-edge technology,\" Shen shared. \"We aim to continue building platforms for dialogue so more young people can feel the unique charm of China in this new era.\" 🇨🇳🤝🇫🇷
Jack Lang applauded the initiative, noting how the cultural envoys embraced China's fusion of heritage and innovation. \"We hope more youths from both nations use dialogue as a bridge to deepen Franco-Chinese friendship and promote global cultural exchanges,\" he said.
Sylvie Bermann emphasized the irreplaceable role of youth exchanges in strengthening lasting relations between France and China. \"This dialogue helps French young people gain a better understanding of today's China and the global significance of its modernization,\" she remarked.
A significant highlight was the joint release of a report on Chinese modernization by CMG Europe, the China Institute for Innovation and Development Strategy, and Jinan University. Additionally, CMG and the Sciences Po Alumni signed a Memorandum of Understanding, setting the stage for future collaboration in expert resource exchange, media cooperation, and joint academic research.
The roundtable session buzzed with energy as young scholars and cultural envoys dove into discussions on modernization from a youth perspective. They agreed that such dialogues deepen mutual understanding and noted that Chinese modernization not only benefits China but offers fresh opportunities for the world. 🌐🚀
As cultures intertwine and ideas flow freely, events like this youth dialogue in Paris highlight the importance of global connection. Here's to more youthful exchanges that inspire, educate, and unite! 🎉
