China Urges U.S. to Stop Meddling in Hong Kong Affairs 🇨🇳🇺🇸

China has sent a strong message to the U.S.: Stay out of Hong Kong's business! 🛑🇭🇰

On Monday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian expressed China's strong opposition to the United States' recent comments on Hong Kong's Safeguarding National Security Ordinance. The U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken had made remarks that didn't sit well with Beijing. 🗣️❌

\"Hong Kong affairs are purely China's internal affairs. No foreign country has the right to make irresponsible remarks,\" Lin stated during a regular press briefing.

The Safeguarding National Security Ordinance, which recently came into effect, is seen by China as a major step forward. Lin emphasized that it will \"further consolidate the security foundation for Hong Kong's development\" and help the region achieve \"stability and prosperity at a faster pace.\" 🚀🌇

According to Lin, the ordinance strikes a balance between national security and individual rights. It \"fully respects and protects human rights,\" and clearly defines what constitutes a crime. This means regular business activities and international exchanges won't be affected. 👍🌐

He also pointed out that the ordinance doesn't undermine Hong Kong's high degree of autonomy or change its capitalist way of life. In fact, it could help Hong Kong strengthen its status as an international financial, shipping, and trade center. 💎📈

Lin didn't hold back in criticizing the U.S., mentioning that while the U.S. has a tight national security system with extensive laws and extraterritorial reach, it still chooses to \"point fingers\" at Hong Kong's legislation. \"This is sheer political manipulation and hypocritical double standards,\" he said. 😤

The spokesperson reaffirmed China's commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty and implementing the \"One Country, Two Systems\" policy. He urged the U.S. to \"earnestly respect China's sovereignty and rule of law in Hong Kong\" and to \"immediately stop meddling\" in affairs that are none of its business. 🚫🇺🇸

Looks like the heat is on between Beijing and Washington once again! 🔥 What do you think about this latest development?
