China’s Wang Yi Urges Australia to Chart Its Own Path

In a move to boost the vibes between China and Australia, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met up with former Australian Prime Minister Paul Keating in Sydney on Thursday. Wang urged Australia to rock its own policies, emphasizing the importance of following its own national interests. 🇨🇳🇦🇺

As a big shot in the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Wang Yi highlighted that China is keen to team up with Australia to build a more mature, stable, and fruitful partnership. \"Australia is a partner of China, and our ties are heading in the right direction,\" he said. \"Let's trust each other and go for that win-win!\"

Pointing out that Australia is allies with the U.S., Wang reminded everyone that Australia is, first and foremost, its own boss. \"Australia is an ally of the U.S., but more importantly, a sovereign state,\" he noted. \"We hope Australia will make policies that suit its own interests.\"

He also mentioned that China is down to share its growth opportunities with others, including Australia. \"We're all about sharing our development with the world,\" Wang added.

Backing up Wang's points, Paul Keating gave a nod to China's massive economy and its room to grow. \"China has a huge economy with loads of space to develop,\" Keating said. \"China isn't a threat to the world, and its growth can't be stopped.\"

Keating sounded optimistic about the future of China-Australia ties, hinting at some exciting times ahead for both countries. 🚀
