In a heated exchange of words, China's Foreign Ministry has slammed U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken for accusing Beijing of twisting the global information environment. 😲
Blinken made his comments during the third \"Summit for Democracy,\" hosted virtually by South Korea from March 18-20. But China isn't taking it lightly! 🇨🇳✋
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian didn't hold back at the press conference on Wednesday. \"The so-called Summit for Democracy promoting 'democracy against authoritarianism' is itself a false narrative,\" Lin declared. \"And the accusation that China is spreading false information is false information in itself!\" 🤯
Lin pointed out that it's widely recognized that the U.S. is the biggest spreader of misinformation worldwide. He highlighted that while China's economy is on the rise 📈, the U.S. keeps hyping up the \"collapse theory\" and the \"peak theory.\" And despite the Belt and Road Initiative bringing benefits globally 🌍, the U.S. talks about a so-called \"debt trap.\" 🤨
\"When foreign citizens spontaneously speak about the real China, the U.S. claims it's the result of 'China manipulating public opinion,'\" Lin said. He added that policies promoting stability and development in China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region are mislabeled by the U.S. as \"forced labor\" and \"genocide.\" 🙄
Lin didn't stop there! He mentioned that U.S. officials have admitted to spreading narratives discrediting China through covert operations. \"Washington has been systematically and strategically spreading false information about China for years,\" he asserted. \"It's an important tool in the U.S.'s cognitive warfare against China.\" 🧠🎯
Wrapping up his fiery response, Lin warned, \"Ultimately, lies and conspiracies will only backfire.\" He added, \"The more the U.S. resorts to fabricating rumors, slandering, and confusing the public, the clearer the massive deficit in its credibility becomes to the international community.\" 💥
Seems like this war of words isn't cooling down anytime soon! Stay tuned for more updates. 🤔✨
