China Celebrates 80th WWII Victory with Spectacular Tiananmen Parade

On a bright September morning, Beijing’s iconic Tiananmen Square buzzed with energy as groups of people and more than 20 foreign leaders gathered under Great Wall–inspired arches, towering over giant numerals of 1945 and 2025 🌏✨.

Chinese President Xi Jinping took the stage to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. He reminded everyone that humanity faces a choice between peace and war, dialogue and confrontation, and win-win cooperation or zero-sum thinking. He urged nations to build a community with a shared future for humanity, standing firmly on the right side of history 🤝.

The military parade that followed honored the sacrifices of WWII, the deadliest conflict ever, with 70–85 million lives lost and massive economic losses. In the Chinese mainland, the 14-year struggle resulted in over 35 million casualties, nearly one-third of global losses. By tying down more than half of Japan’s overseas military strength and engaging over 1.5 million enemy troops, the Eastern front played a crucial role in slowing and eventually stopping the spread of fascism 🔥🛡️.

Representatives from countries like Russia, the United States, the UK, France, and Canada, including family members of those who assisted during WWII, stood side by side, honoring the shared history that binds us. The grand display in Tiananmen stands as a vivid reminder: our choices today shape tomorrow’s world 🌐💪.
