At Least 41 Dead in Morocco Flash Floods

Yesterday, on Sunday, December 14, intense thunderstorms pummeled Morocco’s Atlantic coast, triggering devastating flash floods that have left at least 41 people dead and dozens more injured.

In Safi province, local authorities reported that 37 lives were lost, with 14 people currently receiving treatment in nearby hospitals. Torrential rains swept through neighborhoods, flooding homes and shops, overturning vehicles, and causing major traffic disruptions along coastal roads 🌊🚗.

Further inland in the southern province of Tinghir, four people tragically died when their vehicle was caught in powerful currents and flipped into a river. Rescue teams worked through the night to recover victims and assist stranded residents.
