Massive 7.0 Earthquake Rocks Northern California, Triggers Brief Tsunami Warning

🌐 Early Thursday morning, Northern California was shaken by a powerful magnitude-7.0 earthquake, making waves (literally!) along the West Coast. The quake was so intense it even triggered a brief tsunami warning, leading to swift evacuations in some coastal areas and the San Francisco Bay.

Residents in the city of Ferndale—home to over 1,000 people in Humboldt County—felt the earth rumble at exactly 10:44 a.m. local time (1844 GMT). According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter was located about 100 km northwest of the city, with a surprisingly shallow depth of just 0.6 km. 😱

Initially reported as a magnitude-6.6 quake, it was upgraded to a whopping 7.0 by the USGS! Talk about an earth-shaking surprise. While the tsunami warning was brief, it certainly gave residents a morning to remember.

Stay safe out there, Cali! 🌴✌️ Always be prepared and keep an eye on updates. Mother Nature doesn't send invitations. 🌎💙
