🌳🐾 After 25 years of dedicated conservation efforts, the wildlife in northwest China's Shaanxi Province is booming! Recently, infrared cameras in the vast nature reserve of Zhouzhi County captured amazing footage of rare animals like snub-nosed monkeys, takins, and musk deer—all under first-class protection in China.
What's super exciting is that, for the first time ever, three of these top-protected species were spotted by the same camera! 📸 This is a big deal, showing that these animals are not just surviving but thriving! Since the cameras were first set up in 2013, the number of these rare sightings has skyrocketed.
\"We spotted five or six takins, loads of snub-nosed monkeys popping up intermittently in four to five groups with about 10 in each, two musk deer, and many wild boars,\" said He Yalou, head of a management station at the reserve. \"In previous years, a single camera might catch just one of these animals or a small number of less-protected species.\"
Thanks to a project launched 25 years ago to protect the forest ecosystem, there's been a steady increase in all kinds of wild animals—including four first-class and nearly 20 second-class protected species. 🦌🐗
\"As their habitats recover, these animals are spreading out more and more. Now, they can show up anywhere in the forest! We need to boost our management and protection work to keep them safe and ensure humans and animals can live together harmoniously,\" said Ding Qiaozhou, head of the resource monitoring and fire prevention division at the reserve.
This awesome comeback story is a testament to how dedicated conservation can make a real difference. It's a win-win for nature and for us! 🌍💚
