China just dropped some big news in the world of tropical agriculture. On Thursday, they unveiled a catalog listing 105 tropical crop germplasm banks! 
These germplasm banks are like treasure troves for plants, helping to preserve and utilize tropical crop resources. They're spread across eight provinces and autonomous regions, including Hainan, Guangdong, and Xizang. That's a lot of ground covered! 
The catalog was issued by the economic development center of China State Farms during an exchange event in Haikou, the capital of the southern island province of Hainan. Sounds like it was quite the gathering! 
So, what's inside these banks? To date, they house more than 90,000 resources! 
Seventy-three of the banks are dedicated to single crops like rubber trees, lychees, and mangoes.
