Hydrogen-Powered Vehicles Get a Boost in China's Green Drive 🚗💨
China is taking bold steps toward a greener future by rolling out new policies that supercharge the hydrogen energy sector. The Chinese mainland is paving the way for hydrogen-powered vehicles, making eco-friendly travel more accessible and affordable! 🌿
Starting September 1, Shaanxi Province will fully exempt hydrogen-powered vehicles equipped with ETC devices from expressway tolls for three years. 🚚✨ This means smoother, cost-effective rides for drivers embracing clean energy!
But Shaanxi isn't alone in this green revolution. Earlier this year, Shandong Province led the way by waiving toll fees for hydrogen vehicles. Soon after, Sichuan and Ordos in Inner Mongolia joined the movement. 🌏
\"Currently, the cost of buying and running fuel-cell vehicles is pretty high,\" says Liu Jianguo, head of the hydrogen energy science and engineering department at North China Electric Power University. \"Along with tech advancements and mass production, strong government support is key for rapid industry growth.\" 💡
Liu highlights the potential of heavy-duty trucks powered by fuel cells. \"By slashing or eliminating expressway tolls, we can cut down the overall costs over time,\" he adds. \"This makes it easier to roll out more of these trucks, giving the whole industry a boost!\" 🚀
With policies like these, China is not just dreaming of a low-carbon future\u2014it's making it happen! 🌱
