Mozambique Launches Life-Saving Malaria Vaccine in Central Region 💉

Hey amigos! Mozambique just took a giant leap in battling malaria! 🦟💪 This week, the country's central province of Zambezia began administering the much-awaited malaria vaccine to protect its youngest citizens.

During the launch ceremony in Quelimane, the provincial capital, Mozambique's Minister of Health, Armindo Tiago, shared the exciting news. The vaccine is given to kiddos between six and 11 months old, providing them with a shield against one of the leading causes of hospitalization and mortality in the country.

\"We're thrilled to bring this vaccine to our communities,\" Minister Tiago said. \"It's a game-changer for our fight against malaria.\"

The vaccine is administered intramuscularly (yep, that means a shot in the arm 💉) and follows a specific schedule. For children who start the vaccination after six months, the second and third doses are given four weeks apart, with a fourth and final dose six months later.

This initiative is part of Mozambique's ongoing efforts to eliminate malaria and ensure a healthier future for its people. Way to go, Mozambique! 🌍❤️
