Sad news from the island of Taiwan 😢 Typhoon Gaemi has unleashed its fury, leaving at least 10 people dead and 897 injured, according to local authorities on Sunday.
The island is still grappling with the aftermath as two more people remain missing. The typhoon caused serious disruptions like blocked roads, collapsed roadbeds, and landslides in cities including Hualien, Kaohsiung, and Yilan.
Gaemi, the third typhoon of this year, made landfall in eastern Taiwan's Yilan County around midnight on July 25 before heading over to China's Fujian Province.
