The relentless downpours haven't just affected the Xijiang River. Rivers feeding into Poyang Lake and Dongting Lake—China's two largest freshwater lakes—are also spilling over their banks. Water levels in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River are on the rise too.
From Wednesday to Thursday, water levels of 22 rivers across Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangxi, Zhejiang, and other regions have soared past warning marks. That's a whole lot of water! 🚣♀️
