Southern China’s Rivers Overflow Amid Unrelenting Rains 🌧️

Hey amigos, if you thought this year's weather was wild, wait till you hear this! 🌊🌧️ Southern China is facing some serious floods as heavy rains continue to pour down.

The Xijiang River, a major waterway in the Pearl River basin, overflowed for the third time this year on Thursday afternoon. That's right, third time! 😱 According to the Ministry of Water Resources, this marks the 10th flood in the Pearl River basin since the 2024 flood season kicked off.

The relentless downpours haven't just affected the Xijiang River. Rivers feeding into Poyang Lake and Dongting Lake—China's two largest freshwater lakes—are also spilling over their banks. Water levels in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River are on the rise too.

From Wednesday to Thursday, water levels of 22 rivers across Jiangxi, Hunan, Guangxi, Zhejiang, and other regions have soared past warning marks. That's a whole lot of water! 🚣‍♀️

This situation is causing concern for residents and authorities alike. Communities are banding together to stay safe and protect their homes. 💪 Let's hope the rains ease up soon.

Stay tuned for more updates, and keep those affected in your thoughts. 🙏
