Heavy Rains Trigger Deadly Floods in Indonesia: 28 Lives Lost 😢
By Amigo News Staff
Hey amigos, we've got some heartbreaking news from Indonesia. Over the weekend, heavy rains unleashed devastating floods and landslides in the province of West Sumatra. Sadly, at least 28 people have lost their lives, and 4 others are still missing. 😔
Abdul Malik, the chief of the provincial rescue team, told Reuters on Sunday, \"There are 28 people killed, and we are still searching for four others who are missing.\"
The national disaster management agency, BNPB, reported that since Saturday night, torrential rains brought muddy floods to the Tanah Datar regency, affecting five sub-districts. The disaster has impacted 84 homes and damaged 16 bridges, making it tough for residents to get around.
But here's some hope shining through the clouds! ☀️ Heavy machinery has been deployed to clear roads and speed up rescue efforts. Teams are working tirelessly to reach those in need and bring some relief to the affected areas.
Our hearts go out to the people of West Sumatra during this difficult time. Let's keep them in our thoughts, and if you can, consider supporting relief efforts to help them get back on their feet. 💪❤️
Stay tuned for more updates, and as always, stay safe out there!
