Tornadoes Devastate Central U.S., Leaving at Least 5 Dead 💔

Hey Amigos, some heavy news coming from the U.S. this weekend. 🌪️ Dozens of tornadoes ripped through the Central U.S., leaving at least five people dead, including a four-month-old baby. 💔

Oklahoma was hit hard as twisters tore through the Southern Plains, injuring scores and putting over 7 million Americans under tornado warnings. The state's Governor, Kevin Stitt, declared a disaster emergency to mobilize more aid and resources.

\"Definitely the most damage since I've been governor,\" Stitt shared from Sulphur, one of the hardest-hit communities.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued storm warnings for high winds, heavy rain, and hail on Sunday for more than 47 million people, stretching from East Texas up to Illinois and Wisconsin.

The NWS reported that 38 possible tornadoes struck the area, with the worst storms hitting Central Oklahoma between Saturday and early Sunday. The violent weather also affected northwest Texas, western Missouri, and Kansas.

Hospitals in Oklahoma reported around 100 injuries. The twisters demolished dozens of buildings, including a hospital in the town of Marietta, though thankfully no injuries were reported there.

Power outages were widespread, with more than 25,000 homes in Texas and over 19,000 in Oklahoma left in the dark by Sunday afternoon.

In response to the severe weather, U.S. President Joe Biden declared a major disaster for the affected areas, ordering federal assistance to support recovery efforts.

Our hearts go out to everyone impacted by these devastating storms. Stay safe out there, friends! ❤️
