Heavy Rains Trigger Second Flood This Year in South China’s Beijiang River

🌧️ The Beijiang River in South China's Pearl River basin is making waves again! For the second time this year, the river has flooded, bringing both challenges and stories of resilience.

Over the past few days, heavy rainfall has poured over the region. On Saturday evening, at precisely 8:45 p.m., the water flow at the Shijiao hydrological station in Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, surged to a whopping 12,000 cubic meters per second! 🌊 That's massive!

This surge hit the flood standard set by the Ministry of Water Resources. In response, the ministry has kept the level-IV emergency response for flood control active and is urging local authorities to step up anti-flood measures. Safety first, folks! 🙏

What's noteworthy is that the first flood of the Beijiang River this year happened on April 7, marking the earliest such event since numbered flood records began in 1998. Mother Nature sure keeps us on our toes! 🌍

For our adventurous readers traveling or living in the region, stay updated and stay safe. And to everyone else, let's keep the communities affected in our thoughts. 💙
