🌧️ Heavy rains have hit Kenya hard, leading to devastating floods that have sadly claimed the lives of at least 13 people and forced nearly 15,000 to flee their homes, according to a recent UN report.
The downpours kicked off at the end of March, marking the start of Kenya's \"long rains\" season (March to May). But this year, the rains have been extra intense, causing rivers to swell 🌊, damaging roads and infrastructure 🛣️, and leading to the loss of livestock and property in various regions across the country.
The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) highlighted that the floods have made road access tricky 🚧, complicating relief efforts for those affected.
