Japan sizzles in February! 🌞
Japan just experienced temperatures that felt more like summer than winter! On Monday, warm air flowing from the south caused daytime highs to soar, breaking February records in many northern regions. Can you believe it? 😮
In Mombetsu City, located in Hokkaido, thermometers hit a whopping 17.1°C! That's like late June weather crashing the winter party. 🎉 This unseasonably warm temperature was a staggering 18.8 degrees higher than the average for this time of year. It even smashed the previous record of 12.6°C set way back in 1960, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA). 📈
But Mombetsu wasn't the only hotspot! Akita City in northern Japan reached 20.1°C, while Kanazawa City in central Japan soared to 21.8°C. Even central Tokyo felt the heat with temperatures climbing to 16.5°C. Talk about a heatwave! 🔥
Is winter taking a break? 🤔 With such unexpected warmth, people across Japan swapped their coats for t-shirts, enjoying the sunny vibes. But let's not forget, global warming might be playing a part in these unusual weather patterns. 🌍❗
Stay cool, Japan! And to our amigos in Latin America, don't forget to keep an eye on global weather trends—our planet is changing, and we're all in this together. ✌️
