Chicago Experiences Warmest First Half of February in Nearly 150 Years!

Looks like winter took a vacation in Chicago! 🌞 For the first half of February, the Windy City basked in temperatures about 11°C above normal, making it the warmest start to February in nearly 150 years.

\"It's been an unusually mild February,\" said Ricky Castro, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Romeoville. According to Castro, this year ties for the second warmest first half of February on record.

The warmest first half of February dates all the way back to 1882, with an average daily temperature of 5.22°C. Not far behind, in 1877, the average was 3.67°C, and 1990 saw an average of 2.44°C.

While Chicagoans might be enjoying the early spring vibes, it's a stark reminder of changing climate patterns. ❄️➡️🌷 Who needs a groundhog when you have these stats?
